Somatic Coaching
Somatic Coaching FAQs
My somatic coaching draws on years of dedicated study in embodiment, nervous system science, and body-based methodologies. My work is rooted in the Strozzi tradition of somatics, the ancient wisdom of yoga and yoga nidra, and the insights of Polyvagal Theory. My commitment is to walk alongside you with full dedication as you reconnect with your own capacity for clarity, resilience, and bold, embodied action.
"I am incredibly grateful for the transformative experience I had with Aleks as my somatic coach. Her presence and intuition created a safe space where I felt truly seen and heard. Through her gentle guidance, I was able to uncover answers and solutions that are now integral to my daily life."

what clients say
"In my sessions with Aleks I felt seen and heard. She is an attuned and attentive coach. I never feel rushed, yet we spend time in each element of the cycle of change. Aleks helped me center around and clarify what we were working with, and this had a generative effect outside of our sessions as well. Thank you Aleks for helping me connect more to my goals and sense of dignity and empowerment."

What is somatic coaching?
01
Somatic coaching is a mind-body approach to personal and professional transformation. Rather than relying on conversation and cognition alone, it works directly with the body, through sensation, breath, posture, and movement, to shift the deeply held patterns that shape how you lead, communicate, and make decisions.
Think of it as closing the gap between knowing what you want to change and actually being able to change it.
Is somatic coaching for you?
02
"We are what we repeatedly do." — Aristotle
Somatic coaching is for high-achieving professionals who've hit a ceiling that willpower and intellect alone can't break through. You may have tried talk therapy, executive coaching, or simply pushing harder, and found that the same patterns keep showing up.
Clients typically come to this work with goals like:
Setting and maintaining boundaries without guilt or second-guessing
Making decisions from clarity rather than anxiety or obligation
Breaking cycles of overwork, people-pleasing, or chronic stress
Navigating conflict without shutting down or becoming reactive
Leading with presence and intention rather than urgency
Bringing a meaningful project, transition, or vision to life
Creating lasting change rather than repeating old patterns
If you recognize yourself in any of these, this work was designed for you.
Most approaches to change focus on the mind: analyzing, strategizing, setting intentions. But our bodies carry years of deeply ingrained habits and survival strategies that operate beneath conscious awareness.
For example, if you're someone who feels responsible for solving others' problems, you might habitually lean forward, literally carrying the weight of urgency. If you're often anxious, your shoulders may remain lifted, reinforcing a constant state of alertness. These patterns shape how you perceive the world, how you respond under pressure, and what possibilities you can or can't see.
Thinking about change isn't enough to change the body. Somatic coaching works because it meets these patterns where they live: in the nervous system, in the musculature, in the habits you didn't know you had. And it gives you practical, embodied tools to reshape them.
Why does it work?

What does a session look like?
04
"Knowledge is only rumor until it lives in the muscle." — Asaro tribe, Papua New Guinea
Each session begins with identifying your goal and how it connects to your broader commitment to transformation. From there, we use somatic practices to help you feel into what's happening beneath the surface: the sensations, impulses, and habitual tendencies driving your patterns.
The practices are designed to be dynamic and easily woven into your daily life, whether you're in a meeting, commuting, or winding down at the end of the day. This isn't about performance or choreography. It's about tuning into your body's intelligence. I may invite you to stretch, shift your posture, explore a shape that reflects your current experience, or try a movement that represents where you want to be.
Depending on your goals, we may work with:
Centering, grounding, and orienting to anchor in the present moment
Embodied mindfulness to cultivate awareness and reduce reactivity
Movement and postural work to release stored emotional patterns
Breath and sound work to access and process sensation and emotion
Visualization and guided imagery to connect with your inner experience
Together we'll develop integration steps you can practice between sessions, because real transformation happens not just in our calls, but in the moments in between.

What does a somatic inquiry look like in practice?
06
Imagine you're working on making requests: setting a boundary or expressing a need. I might invite you to think of a real situation, a conversation with your boss, your partner, or a colleague. You extend your arm and say "I have a request," envisioning that person in front of you. Then you take a few steps forward, noticing what happens in your body as you move toward expressing your need.
What do you feel? Where do you brace? What impulse arises? These moments reveal the embodied patterns shaping how you navigate high-stakes interactions, and they become the material we work with to create real, lasting shifts.
